What we’re looking for
We’re on the lookout for a flexible and technically astute Apigee Engineer to take the helm of our API management and integration services on the Google Cloud Platform. In this key role, you’ll assist in the design of API solutions that empower our clients to achieve their business goals.
How you’ll impact
You’ll be our go-to expert on all things Apigee, its services and best practices. Specifically, you’ll be designing, implementing and managing API solutions using Apigee and other GCP products and services. We’ll rely on you to ensure the security, scalability and reliability of our services and stay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to API management architecture.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into efficient and scalable GCP-based solutions.
- Lead the design, development and deployment of Apigee and data management applications.
- Implement industry standards and best practices for API security and scalability.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize the performance of Apigee and related data management applications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members and share knowledge across the organization.
- Participate in pre- and post-sales activities, including client meetings, proposal development, proofs of concept and demos to ensure customer satisfaction and adoption.
- Work with the team to identify business opportunities and develop strategies to resolve technical objections and blockers.
- Provide in-depth API management and app modernization delivery expertise to support the technical relationship with our valued customers.
- Partner with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud
- Travel to customer sites and other related events as required
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in Java and other API-related languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Node.js).
- Familiarity with web services related standards such as HTTP, REST, SOAP and OAuth.
- Experience in customer-facing roles in a cloud computing environment or as part of a professional services or systems engineering team.
- Experience in architecture and developing software for scalable, distributed systems.
- Proficiency in middle-ware and cloud technologies like NoSQL datastores, Google Cloud, AWS, Azure and mobile app development.
- Ability to lead architecture discussions and influence key decision makers.
- Experience working in Agile SCRUM framework.
